Savannah Ghost Post
Welcome to Savannah Ghost Post

Between Native Americans and British colonists, remorseful pirates, Revolutionary War heroes and runaway slaves, Savannah truly has an interesting array of restless souls to offer.  But Savannah doesn't have a monopoly on spirits and ghosts, they are everywhere around the world.

As a rule, ghosts will not leave their haunt, but some ghosts feel at home in different areas.  That is the kind of ghost that accompanies me every time I move.

I have lived in haunted houses all my life.  When I was a small child, with two brothers, my Mother would tell us that one member of the family must be posessed by demons, and when that member moved out, she would never have to live in a haunted house again.  Well...I don't think I was "posessed", but the ghost(s) evidently chose me to accompany in my life's moves and travels.  It doesn't matter if I live in a Chicago gangster-built 1935 stronghold, or an ultra modern stilt home on the ocean, something travels with me.

I am not afraid of the spirit, but sometimes it is annoying; disturbing my sleep or inconveniently making a prized object just disappear.  Occasionally the missing item will suddenly reappear after a long interval, but sometimes not.  So, suffice it to say that yes, I not only 'believe' in spirits and ghosts, but 'know' them first hand.

Of my family (four children), only one seems to carry my wave length that for some reason attracts spirits who want us to be aware of them.   Ghosts occupy her home.  She resides in an 1853 brick carriage house in the Historic District of Savannah.  Her spirits have been verified by several paranormal research groups, and even featured online and on television.  No, they don't frighten her but they do sometimes scare off her friends.  She occasionally gets thoroughly annoyed at one spirit in particular and has yelled at it so much she eventually gave it a name (Lilly) for convenience.  She believes, and the paranormal groups agree, that it is a female child into mischief.  One of her friends since grade school was visiting, and Lilly's paranormal activity made the visitor first start crying, then she left and swore never to return.

There is more than one ghost in my daughter's home.  The parapyschology team says there is an adult male ghost residing in her closet - right next to her bed.  They say the man was murdered there and will not leave.  She has had many "upsetting" encounters in and around her closet, but still feels completely safe.

I have lived in Savannah for eight years and the only ghost/spirit in my home is the same one I evidently brought with me when I moved here.  I just added one more ghost to all the ghosts and spirits already residing in Savannah.
